Taking It In

I’ve been craving a day just to breathe. I think, as humans, we all need those kind of days. Just days to relax. To remember that we are loved. For some of us, that fact seems like a lie. That we aren’t loved, and we feel doubtful that anyone could love us. Well, that’s not true. I feel like that sometimes too, like everyone’s just putting up with me. But it never lasts long, because I have a truly amazing family.

Family is more than just people you’re related to by blood. It goes farther, goes deeper. That’s the amazing thing. I have a rather big family. Which gets funny, because when you go in public, and the door doesn’t shut, and we keep piling in, and people’s faces are hilarious because they’re just going ”??????” and wondering when we’re finished entering. That’s always funny. But anyway, as you know, I have 4 siblings. I actually had to count and went ”wait only 4?”. I’ve already explained it, so I’ll save you the breath of reading my entire gang of mischief makers. πŸ˜‰ I have my Mama and Dad, and I’m an aunt to 3. Being an aunt is really cool actually. You can get hugs and stuff as much as you want; without the Mom role. πŸ˜‰ Plus, I’m the ‘nice’ aunt. So that’s lovely.

But Ryan, Rachel, Ashton, and Em were here for over a week. Around 10 days. That’s pretty much a record. Was it hectic? Yeah. When all is over, we all need a break now haha. It was a rough trip, but it was so worth it. I got to help with BW a bit. Which looks AMAZING!!!! Ryan and Dad did a freaking AWESOME job on it. I’m gonna try and get some pics uploaded if I can find some. Resources lol. I got to babysit Ashton and Em. I got all 3 kid sugars.

Last night was awesome. We went to a Mexican restaurant, adding up to 12 of us. xD (Again, people’s reactions=PRICELESS) We even had to go in the back back room, since the first back room was full of some politic party. We literally got the back back to ourselves, which was just great. SILENCE. πŸ˜‰ We took some pictures there and went to Walmart. Which was fun. xD

But my point is; when I’m surrounded a family that loves me, it’s hard to feel 100% alone. MY family is one of a kind. For a long time, I didn’t get why my parents made a deal about saying we were different and that other families weren’t like us. I never thought much of it, that we were different than others. It was fine by me. And it still is. But I’ve started to see how truly different my family is. And I love it. For instance; we tease and joke a LOT. Not to be hateful, we just have what Mama calls ‘a tough love’. And it’s what I’m use to and what I do. Proudly. We talk a lot. We share plenty. I don’t get why some families keep so much hidden and have to have a ‘perfect’ household. What fun is that?! O love my family! We’re crazy and weird and amazing. The looks we get just reminds me that I’m apart of something that others just won’t always understand, and that’s completely OK. Because family will be there when friends and people aren’t.

Family is more important than we think. God doesn’t make mistakes, He didn’t mess up the family we were put in.

Another amazing thing is when you’re family member isn’t by blood. I’m talkin’ about you, Meesha. πŸ˜‰ One thing that bothers me is saying Meesha’s adopted. It just soundsΒ wrong. She is adopted, but it just sounds so… Wrong. I don’t know. Honestly, when I look at her, I don’t see someone who was adopted. I see a really funny, silly, and sometimes mean (hahaha) sister. She’s my sister. That is all anyone needs to know. But Meesha proves that you don’t have to be biologically related to be siblings. Because my friend, she is my sibling and if you so happen to be a jerk to her- holla you little piece of- sorry. My French needs to be kept on a leash haha… Anyway! It’s a truly amazing thing to have a sibling who is adopted. It’s sort of like an adventure, in a different sense. Is it rough? Yeah. But any sibling relationship is. Any kid can be a headache. But the headaches (and believe me, we all give off plenty. Sorry Mom and Dad…) my siblings give off are worth it. Because I know that they love me and I love them and that is all that matters.

Maybe I sound a bit too cheesy. To be honest, it’s definitely not always rainbows and sunshine in this house. NUH-UH. It gets pretty hard and ugly sometimes. But one thing I’ve found that’s different about us, is that we, as a family, always pull through. No matter how hard the rain, no matter how ugly the maze, we help each other out. After conking them on the head, if they need it. πŸ˜‰

I’m not saying I’m a really sweet older sis, either. I’m the older sis to only 1, and that’s to the one and only, Kody! πŸ™‚ We have a pretty close bond, since we’re the closest in age. I’m close to my entire family, which takes effort, but is worth it. Kody and I… Partners in crime, let’s say it how it is. XD One moment we’re quoting some movie (maybe in a mocking voice maybe not), the next we’re…. OK so we both can get a temper with each other. :3 But he’s an amazing little bro. This world would utterly suck without ‘im. He’s great fun, has a wicked little sense of humor- and is also one of the sweetest boys ever. He was willing to let me finish his Sonic slushie, and that is SAYIN’ something. β™₯

But I try my best to let my whole family know that no matter how tough I can get, no matter what I say or do, I’m always there for them. Even if they don’t come to me first off (and who would when we have an amazing Mama right with us?), I always dig my way into whatever is going on. And believe me, in this family, nothing stays among 2 forever. We all find out. We all know. I just happen to enjoy digging into the convos before others. πŸ˜‰

All this to also say; please don’t take your family for granted. For a reminder; right now, go hug a sibling. Hug your Dad. Hug your Mom. Hug your grandparents, or if they live far away, call them up. Or write a letter to them- they’d love to hear from you. Call an older sibling, even if it’s quick and short, if they know it’s from your heart, it’ll mean the world. Draw a picture with a younger sibling, or a nephew/niece. Help cook dinner with your sister or Mom. Watch the news with your Dad or Mom. Little things say the most, and trust me, even a small hug can do wonders. Even a head rustle can remind someone that you love them. It’s great, to have a family that loves you. No matter how quirky I am, I know I always have someone to go raid a candy store with. I’m kidding, I’m not a criminal. Just checking to see if you were paying attention. Actually ya know, raiding a candy store sounds fun. But I guess that’s against the law and everything. Anyway. XD

I just felt like blogging from the heart today. *shrug* And with what’s been going on, a family post seemed to do it. πŸ˜‰

I wish you all a very good weekend, it being Friday and stuff. πŸ™‚ Please pray for my Mama, she’s got my cold. X(
